For Corporate Members
Make Volunteer.bm work for your corporate volunteering!
1. Provide a link to Volunteer.bm from your staff intranet
Providing a link to VOLUNTEER.BM from your staff intranet enables staff to identify potential volunteer opportunities quickly and from the comfort of their own desks
Creating a link is easy – your webmaster will know what to do with the web address on the VOLUNTEER.BM.
2. Encourage staff to track volunteer hours
An individual’s profile on VOLUNTEER.BM allows them to log their volunteering hours for non profits on the website
Encouraging staff to log their hours will enable them to monitor their own contribution to the community and help them to demonstrate to you that they have achieved a specific number of hours where your corporate giving policy requires it
3. Create a corporate team
The VOLUNTEER.BM add-on of ‘TeamTracker’ software enables your company to collectively report on all the hours which its team members have given to the community
The Centre on Philanthropy creates a team profile with a named administrator. You select the team (a department, a group of colleagues or the whole workforce) and encourage your employees to join. When your employees log their individual hours (see 2 above), you will be able to see their contribution to the community, and celebrate their own, and your collective success.
4. Help new staff and their families integrate into the community through volunteering
Volunteering is a great way for new residents and their spouses to integrate into the community. Include information about VOLUNTEER.BM in your company’s welcome pack before and after relocation.
5. Identify non profits which fit your company’s support criteria
The search facility on VOLUNTEER.BM allows you to identify those non profits whose charitable cause fits your company’s support criteria, saving you time identifying them individually, and expanding your support to other organisations of which you are currently not aware. Search under ‘organisation mission’ to identify non profits and pre select your list.
6. Encourage non profits onto the website
Through your links with non profits, identify those which do not already have a profile on the VOLUNTEER.BM and encourage them to sign up, providing you with a way to encourage your staff to support your company’s non profit preferences.
There are 167 Bermuda based charities successfully using Volunteer.bm to advertise over 320 volunteer opportunities to the community.
